Electric power adds new levels of refinement and responsiveness to the vehicles you trust to take you just about anywhere.
In the 1970s, the Land Rover Range Rover’s Herculean four-wheel-drive system and fancy interior convinced the wealthy it was fun to dip their diamonds in the mud. Now the company’s top model takes a new evolutionary step, entering the fully electric era as the 2025 Range Rover EV. While it looks nearly identical to the gas-powered Range Rover SUV, but the electric variant is said to be powered by multiple electric motors and the company says this powertrain will at least match the performance of the gas-powered V-8 model. Land Rover may have developed a four-motor setup with individual wheel control similar to what has debuted on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class EV, but we won't know more until closer to the SUV's on-sale date. Important details such as range, power, and pricing remain a secret, but we expect the Range Rover EV to retain the plushness and robust off-road capability that’s been synonymous with the brand since it was first sold stateside in 1987.
