It is the company's first model and was first unveiled at the 2018 LA Auto Show. The R1T is built on Rivian's "skateboard" platform, which houses the battery pack, electric motors, suspension, and other components.
The R1T has a range of up to 400 miles on a single charge, and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3 seconds. The vehicle has four electric motors, one for each wheel, which gives it excellent off-road capabilities. The R1T also features a unique gear tunnel that runs through the middle of the truck, providing additional storage space.
The R1T is expected to start production in 2021 and has already garnered a lot of attention and pre-orders. It is set to compete with other electric pickup trucks such as the Tesla Cybertruck and the Ford F-150 Electric.
